Additional details on Raw HTML Code feature request and product feedback 🤗

Salesmate has been a fantastic platform for managing contacts, campaigns, and segmentation at a great price point. But for users working with custom HTML email designs — especially designs built in BeeFree or hand-coded — the experience gets very challenging due to how Salesmate injects its own CSS, structural tables, and media queries every time an email is saved.

This automatic injection often overrides responsive design logic we’ve carefully built in, particularly around mobile stacking behavior (like reverse stacking, image alignment, or column ordering). It becomes an endless loop of fixing one thing only to break another. The more custom the design, the harder it gets to maintain visual integrity across Apple Mail, Gmail mobile, and Outlook — which is already tricky without added interference.

What would be extremely helpful is a new setting or toggle (even just within the Basic Editor) that allows users to opt out of automatic code injection. We’re not asking to remove the unsubscribe merge tag or tracking pixel — those are necessary for compliance and tracking. But we do want full control over our HTML and CSS, especially when we’ve already included the proper merge tags like {{Contact.unsubscribe}} and {{Campaign.companyName}}.

Other platforms like Knak, Mailchimp’s Code Editor, and even HubSpot (at a much higher price point) allow this kind of raw-code workflow. Adding this flexibility in Salesmate would make it a true powerhouse for small teams and designers who want the best of both worlds: total control over layout, and seamless tracking built into the CRM.

This feature would unlock a smoother workflow for anyone building outside Salesmate’s visual editor — especially for users integrating with BeeFree, which outputs clean and mobile-optimized code we’re already happy with. Let us keep the structure, and just inject the merge tags and pixel. That’s all we need.

Hi Rich, :waving_hand:

Appreciate you dropping this feature request! :speech_balloon: It’s always great to hear how we can make Salesmate work even better for you :flexed_biceps:

We’ve shared your idea with our product team :brain: While we can’t promise an immediate update, it’s definitely logged and being considered for future improvements :hammer_and_wrench:

If there’s any movement on this, we’ll circle back and update the thread so you’re in the know! :counterclockwise_arrows_button:
